Abstract:

The Dutch delegation, comprised of Dr. Tatjana A. Egorova-Zachernyuk, CEO of PLI Technologies, Mr. J.A. Flohil, CEO of Foldyne B.V., Mr. Norimasa Morita, the account manager of Pyxis Discovery B.V. and Mrs. Charlene Lambert, Vice President of West-Holland Foreign Investment Agency, visited Taiwan to attend the Biobusiness Asia 2005 & Bio Taiwan Exhibition from July 19 to 23, 2005.

The delegates also attended the 2005 Biotech Lunch Meeting organized by the Economic Division, Taipei Representative Office in the Netherlands on June 14, 2005. The meeting focused mainly on the latest development of Taiwan’s biotech industry and potential bilateral cooperation opportunities in the future. Most participants were highly interested in having more contacts with Taiwanese biotech companies and four of them decided to attend the Biobusiness Asia 2005 & Bio Taiwan Exhibition events organized by the Industrial Technology Research Institute and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, respectively.

The Economic Division, Taipei Representative Office in the Netherlands also arranged a meeting for the delegation on July 19, 2005 with representatives from the Industrial Development and Investment Center, the Industrial Development Bureau, the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industries Program Office under the Ministry of Economic Affairs as well as several venture capital companies to further promote the trade and investment opportunities of Taiwan’s biotech related industries
